Quicksand - That Sinking Feeling
When we think about quicksand often if bring to minds thoughts of action movies such as Indiana Jones. The intreped adventures finds himself in quicksand, unable to move and getting pulled down into the sand depths.
However in reality quick sand is really
not that quick, and as much as someone could put there foot in it an get stuck it is actually really hard to get swollowed up by it. This is due to the fact that quicksand is a non nutonia fluid and based on the mass we have a humans it's actually harder to sink lower than you waist.
So how is this possible. Well one way could be maintaining your position, moving a lot and not making active progress in any direction.

Considerations
When looking at quicksand an interesting thing to explore is how the individual actually go there in the first place. What that like?
We know quicksand is not actually that quick so we can assume the following:
- The person was not necessarily looking at that steps they were taking.
- They are in an environment that is both solid and fluid which leaves them in a place of less that solid understanding.
- If they did get stuck into in they have been struggling while maintaining their position on it. (This will vairy depending on how deep they are into it.)
